Andrew Coloretti – Managing Director
Andrew co-founded Giles Wade in 2011, combining his strong commercial background and penchant for client services. He oversees the asset management function as the Chief Investment Officer of Giles Wade.
Andrew has been intimately involved with all aspects of advisory and asset management over the past 23 years. He draws on experience gained through roles as Director for ANZ Private Bank, Head of Wealth Management for Chimaera Limited (boutique Investment Bank); Managing Director of Pyxus Advisors; CEO of Boston Capital Group (Australia / Singapore); and Head of Wealth Management for HSBC Bank Australia Ltd.
Andrew has previously lectured and developed curriculum in Corporate Governance and Internal Controls at RMIT University.
His philanthropic work includes 17 years as a State Library of Victoria Foundation Executive, while currently serving as a member of the Board Finance Committee.
Andrew was awarded a Bachelor Degree in Business (Banking and Finance) as well as post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Monash University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD) and Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
Outside the office, Andrew participates in charity bike rides. His most recent ride being the Conquer to Cure Cancer in Perth.
Liza Janakievski – Director
Liza co-founded Giles Wade after identifying an opportunity to deliver a full in house service combining financial advisory and asset management. Her specialist expertise lies in tax (both domestic and international), strategy, structuring and intergenerational wealth transfer.
Prior to forming Giles Wade, Liza has worked for boutique advisory firms. Liza started her career as a tax accountant at Melbourne Water before moving to National Australia Bank in Group Finance.
Liza was awarded Bachelor of Business and Masters in Business from Victoria University. She is also a Registered Tax Agent, Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with the Taxation Institute and Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) with CPA Australia.
Liza is recognised in both commercial and academic circles for her expertise and volunteers for the Television Education Network, providing technical advice. She has also worked as a University lecturer and tutor in Taxation Law for RMIT in both Australia and Singapore.
Liza enjoys her charitable pursuits and was proud to rank in the top 0.1% of participants for her fundraising efforts in the 2013 Mother’s Day Classic fun run.
Zebulon Ashton – Manager
Zeb is a wealth manger, having provided advice for a wide range of both retail and wholesale clients. His proactive and innovative approach keeps him up to date with industry advancements. Zeb is also a member of the Giles Wade Investment Committee.
Zeb joined Giles Wade on its establishment, following advisory and technical roles at boutique financial advisory firms.
He has obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Australian National University (ANU) and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning (DFP).
In addition to his technical, advisory and compliance expertise, Zeb is pivotal in the provision of Giles Wade’s full service offering.
Zeb brings to his role a broad understanding of unique factors impacting individuals and enterprises. His diverse background includes time in France and the UK where he worked with a charitable organization. Zeb has also travelled extensively through North and South America and Europe.
Michele Day – Practice Manager & SMSF Specialist
Michele joined Giles Wade at inception and draws on over 10 years experience working with superannuation funds in professional advisory firms. She has also bookkeeping experience working for a range of businesses.
Michele specialises in self-managed superannuation fund compliance and is responsible for the preparation of financial statements and returns.
When not in the office Michele enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Doctor Donald Stokes
Doctor Stokes has over 20 years experience as a researcher, educator, manager and independent consultant. He contributes valuable risk management and governance expertise to the Investment Committee.
Donald has filled senior university roles as Dean, Associate Dean Research, Head of School and Deputy Head of School, and has served on the Boards of the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards, the Consultative Group to the Australian Accounting Standards and as President of the Accounting Association of Australia and New Zealand.
As a result of his work in applied and commercial research in the higher education sector, Donald has been published in several leading accounting journals and served on the editorial boards of numerous international research journals. His work has been used in government inquiries and legislative reforms of the Corporations Law. His opinions are sought by the financial press on topical issues relating to the operation of Australian audit markets and his policy papers are regularly cited in key industry, commerce and professional journals.
Jeff Oughton – Chairman
Jeff is an accomplished and insightful economic and financial expert with over 30 years experience advising diverse stakeholders.
His oversight of the macro-economic and financial environment underpinning investment performance plays a pivotal role in the Investment Committee’s strategy development.
Jeff’s career has included 10 years with the Reserve Bank, including two years as Deputy Chief Representative in New York, and 17 years with National Australia Bank (NAB) as Head of the Australian Economics & Industry Intelligence team.
In 2009 and following his tenure at NAB, Jeff started Economics & Beyond, which is an economic consultancy firm. He is also a Principal of the independent financial advisory firm Financial Institutions & Management Advisory (FIMA).
Jeff has a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Newcastle University, an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, is a Visiting Fellow of Macquarie University at the Applied Finance Centre.
Jeff currently teaches economics for financial markets to post graduate students throughout Australasia. He has previously taught at the Securities Institute of Australia and tutored at the University of NSW.
Andre brings a broad range of capabilities to the Investment Committee, having over 30 years experience in financial and analytical investment roles.
Andre’s considerable tenure with National Australia Bank (NAB) including Treasury, saw him providing financial solutions to corporate clients, fund managers, State Government and Territory Treasuries.
Since 2005 he has worked in varied roles, including consulting for Sensis and as a research analyst at Carroll Pike & Piercy. He also volunteers helping underprivileged families in financial stress.
